Some months ago Doritt and Dimitri Romanov was invited by the President of the Russian Community of Azerbaijan (Russkaja Obshina Azerbaidjana), Mikhail Jurievich Zabelin, to take part in the 3rd meeting of the Russian Community, in Baku on 6 November 2009, an invitation that Dimitri Romanov was glad to accept.

They participated in its general assembly and during the next days we were shown the many interesting sites of the town and had the privilege of meeting H S Patriarch Kyrill of All Russia at Baku's Cathedral during His short visit to the country. Dimitri Romanov was told that their status in Azerbaijan being as refugees, this did not allow them to be granted special state medical assistance nor did they had sufficient funds to acquire hearing instruments.

He promised that the Prince Dimitri Romanov Fund would donate the necessary hearing instruments to the three children as soon as the technical and administrative details were in order.
The Centre is well provided with modern testing equipment and has a long standing relation with the world leading Danish firm of "Oticon".
 

During the previous day Dimitri Romanov had a meeting with Terane Kerimova, the director of the Hearing Center of which she is the leader. At the time of my visit, there were 3 young patients escorted by their mothers waiting for a test to be taken.

                                               In the autumn of 2009 the Prince Romanov Charity Fund, availing itself of the sponsorship of the Russian Federation’s “Sberbank”, carried out a project - to transfer 400 fully equipped Samsung computers to a number of entities of the Borovsk municipal district of the Kaluga region. The Borovsk region is known as an ancient spiritual center of the Orthodox Russia. Today it also becomes a center for modern high technologies.
 


 

 

 

 

 

 

"The Reference-Point” Center for teenager’s social rehabilitation of Balabanovo city, the Yermolino city municipal Center for social assistance to Family and Children affairs, the Borovsk city Municipal Administration and the parish of the St. Boris and Gleb Orthodox Temple of the Borovsk city became the recipients of the computer transfer project. The computers were deployed at the stationary institutions of the

Centers and were distributed among those who need it – the institutions of care for orphan children, invalids and low income families with many children.
Mr.V.Ternikov, the Head of the Borovsk regional Administration, sent a letter to Prince D.Romanov and the Charity Fund expressing gratitude for the humanitarian action which helps to create equal opportunities for all cathegories of citizens of Russia.
